This site consisted of two separate parcels of land separated by an existing developed site. The client desired to construct an assisted living facility on one parcel and an Alzheimer’s facility on the other. Existing development throughout the site had put heightened pressure on the downstream pipe network. Therefore, a hydraulic grade-line analysis was required to insure that the proposed development did not exceed the capacity of the existing network.

A review of the Department of Transportation records, along with field survey data collected by the survey team, provided the existing conditions necessary to analyze the effect of the discharge from the two proposed basins. These basins were designed to control the storms in accordance with State regulations. Also, due to the residential nature of the neighborhood and the clients in the facilities, the outlet structures restricted human access, while the outlet pipe created a closed drainage system.
